Metals Industry Conference and Industry Awards Gala Dinner 2017 is a GO

Time to book your flights!
During the month of April, the Metals NZ Executive consisting of nine industry associations’ Chairmen or their representatives, confirmed that the Metals Industry Conference will be held at Christchurch’s Addington Raceway & Events Centre, on September 15th.

We are expecting 350 people at Addington as there will be seven association meetings from the morning, plenary sessions following afternoon tea, and in the evening, the Industry Awards Gala Dinner.

The signature Gala Dinner itself usually has attendance over 440 guests. That is because it recognizes and celebrates excellence, and is always a great opportunity to network, to inform and inspire our leaders and members, as we look to further develop our capabilities and achievements as a metals based industry.

Plenary Opening
Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel will be welcoming delegates to the revitalised city, and providing an overview of the rebuild's signature projects, but also the transitioning to 'business as usual' for the near-term building and construction needs.

Keynote Speaker
Economic commentator Rod Oram has spoken at the Metals Industry Conferences 2008 and 2015. By popular demand, he will again speak this year, providing his insights into the economic drivers shaping our markets in the near term, and also the strategic imperatives that our industry needs to consider as we look to position our industry for a strong future.

Rod uses his skills in journalism, management and leadership to help New Zealanders face tough economic challenges and seize on exciting business opportunities. Rod is eminently qualified to present the opening keynote address at the Metals Industry Conference, to be held in Addington Raceway & Events Centre in Christchurch, on 15th September.

Industry Awards Gala Dinner
The Hon Nicky Wagner, Minister for the Regeneration of the city will be joining guest at the dinner. This presents an excellent opportunity to showcase our industry to VIPs and guests for the benefit of the local business and the industry.
