Metals Week 2015 - May News

The arrangements are now well advanced for Metals Week 2015. The core events making up the Metals Week 2015 program at Auckland’s Aotea Centre are now progammed with the Industry Awards Gala Dinner being held at the adjacent Rendezvous Hotel.

Some important dates and milestone events are;
Metals Week 2015 runs from 31st Aug to 4th Sept 2015

Social Media - Metals Week 2015 can now be followed on Twitter, LinkedIn & Facebook, so if you are a follower on any of those mediums… .follow us now!
• There will be one Registration Site online for all Metals Week 2015 events, linked via each Member Association’s web site and being launched 18th of May
• The major sponsors are 90% in place and will be published on the web site on the 18th of May. If you are thinking about supporting our industry through Sponsorship, the time to act is now
Steel Innovations 2015 will be a two-day event on the 3rd & 4th September. Details are now up on SCNZ’s web site and currently calls for papers are out. We expect this event to be very popular this year given the Research & technologies employed in relation to the Christchurch rebuild.
Key topics will include seismic engineering, composite steel construction, fire engineering, durability, sustainability and steel bridges…..
• The biennial Metals Industry Conference speaker lineup is finalized and will be published 18th May. A fantastic set of speakers have been assembled including CEOs from across the metals industry. The theme is Business Excellence and the topics will be very relevant for our business leaders and managers in today’s environment.
• The NZ MRM (Metal Roofing Manufacturers) Conference 2015 will be held in association with Metals Week 2015 on 1st – 3rd Sept at Aotea Events Centre and planning is underway for this.
• The 40-booth Metals Industry Exhibition, run in parallel with the conferences, is now open for bookings at Early interest is high and spaces are limited!
• As delegates descend on Auckland CBD for the conferences, a Networking Evening at 5-7pm will be held Wed, the 2nd of Sept. This event will follow the opening of the Exhibition timed for 12 noon.
• The Industry Awards Gala Dinner on 3rd September will recognize ‘Excellence’ within each of the member associations. The MC for the evening will be none other than Te Radar and, will also include an entertainment piece. We are planning on the Industry Awards being presented in front of a Government Minister.
Other events are in the early concept phase and some ideas have the potential to be run NZ wide.
